AUTOGRAPHED POSTER TO BE RAFFLED FOR FLOOD RELIEF AT HAWKEYE DOWNS

(Cedar Rapids, IA 05/28/09)—NASCAR Nationwide 2008 Rookie of the Year driver Landon Cassill has announced he will be donating all proceeds from a raffle to be held during “Van Meter Industrial Fast Lane Friday” for a one of a kind poster. The 20 x 30 autographed and framed poster entitled “Hawkeye Downs to NASCAR” shows Go-Karts, Legends, Modifieds, and Late Models that Cassill has raced over the years at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

Raffle Tickets can be purchased for $1.00 each at the Speedway Souvenir booth located near the main grandstand. Raffle Ticket holders must be present in order to win.

All Raffle Ticket proceeds will benefit the “Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Flood 2008 Fund” and will supplement other funds donated at Hawkeye Downs on Friday night during “Van Meter Industrial Fast Lane Friday” night at the races.

Landon will draw the winning ticket right before the Late Model Feature, which he will also be driving in.

Friends And Neighbors of the Speedway

You are invited to be a part of a community group that will help to make improvements around the Hawkeye Downs Speedway property.

We will work side by side with members of the Fair Board and speedway staff.

I hope you will see, as I do, that Hawkeye Downs Speedway has been a fixture in the community for a very long time. I have been coming to the speedway as a fan, a racer, a sponsor and as media over my lifetime starting as a small child being overwhelmed by the spectacular facility as a whole.

I want that overwhelming feeling to be around for children to enjoy with their families for years to come!

This facility, as any with age, is in need of a little facelift and I feel that with help, we can keep the speedway looking spectacular to any visitor arriving at the front gate.

I have arranged for an informational meeting with Hawkeye Downs staff to discuss projects needed, schedules and other basic information.

I would like to see as many interested people as possible at this meeting weather you are available to help with labor or even donations of materials to complete certain projects.

The meeting will be held at the Bingo hall on the track grounds Saturday May 30th at 12:00 noon.

Anyone wanting more information or wanting to offer suggestions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Thank you,
Roy Parker
