The Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals, now in its 5th year, involves 66 of the top Late Model Drivers in the Nation to compete in the three day event. Featuring a full program each night of racing, drivers will qualify on Thursday and may race again on Friday to improve their standings for the main show on Saturday, September 27th. The total purse for the three day event is $246,410 with the winner taking home $40,000 Saturday night.
| Happenings FAN & TRADE SHOW, free of charge, will run from 11 am to 7 pm each of the 3-days with exhibits on the Midway and at the Nationals Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. The Saturday AUCTION, held at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum behind turn-2 will give fans the chance to "get up close" with the top drivers and TV personalities from SpeedTV. Items will include driver and team donated items. It's lots of fun, and the monies raised are shared with the National Dirt Late Model Museum. MEET THE DRIVERS, held on Saturday after the Celebrity Luncheon & Auction, will again be in the Dyer-Hudson Hall off the Midway. Last year, the no-charge event ran for over 2-hours as thousands of fans lined up to meet, talk and get pictures and autographs from more than 25 drivers. Fans are encouraged to bring their favorite Ts and Sweats for the drivers to autograph. Don't forget the cameras. |
